Dynamic Image Rendering

In order to deliver static and animated images in downloadable and browsable formats, we have developed a proprietary, dynamic algorithm to identify and transcode the best available content, specifically for the requesting mobile device. The Fresh Platform dynamically renders image-based content, allowing for an optimal user experience.

While many competitors rely on a best-fit method selecting an image from a set of 8 or so ‘standard’ sizes, we saw no reason to not create an “exact-fit” dynamic rendering engine. The Fresh team took this task to the whiteboard from day one and as a result, Fresh Platform’s image rendering is like no other. After a user requests a piece of content, the Fresh Platform takes over and performs the following:

1. Detects the mobile device
2. Analyzes the requested content
3. Uses the device data along with our prioprietary algorithm to determine the best master-file relative to the device’s aspect ratio
4. Checks the cache for a pre-existing file meeting the exact criteria established by the algorithm
5. If a pre-existing version does not exist, Dynamically transcodes the master-file to the exact fit
6. Delivers the content to the end user

The end result is the end-user gets a perfectly rendered image, on-the-fly, every time… no matter what device. The Dynamic Image Rendering solution employed by the Fresh Platform provides our clients with a solid, innovative solution for providing their end-users with an optimal mobile experience.
